Admission Requirements
University Entrance Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the courses leading to a taught postgraduate qualification, a candidate:
- shall comply with the General Regulations;
- shall hold a Bachelor’s degree of this University or a qualification of equivalent standard from this University or another comparable institution accepted for this purpose;
- shall satisfy any other admission requirements which may be prescribed from time to time for the relevant curriculum; and
- for a candidate who is seeking admission on the basis of a qualification from a university or comparable institution outside Hong Kong of which the language of teaching and/or examination is not English, shall satisfy the University English language requirement applicable to high degrees as prescribed under General Regulation G2(b).
An application for exemption from the above requirements shall be considered on a case by case basis.

English Language Requirement
For a candidate who is seeking admission on the basis of a qualification from a university or comparable institution outside Hong Kong of which the language of teaching and/or examination is not English shall satisfy the University English language requirement.

Advanced Standing
A candidate may apply for advanced standing of up to 12 credits for courses successfully completed at this University or another recognised institution prior to admission to one of our Master of Science in Engineering programmes.
A candidate who wishes to apply for advanced standing:
- shall submitthe request at the time of application for admission by completing the relevant section of the application form; and
- shall provide all supporting documents required for consideration of the request.
Any application for advanced standing submitted after admission to the programme shall not be considered.
